WOW

that%26#039;s compassionate. . . . . .
Reply:Wow, I thought I heard of everything, but dang, that is the wackiest stuff I have ever heard of. Man I am not even sure what to say. Do you charge your children rent to live in your home? Why do people think that they can claim anything on their taxes? Do you claim an energy credit every time you breath out because it warms the air?
Reply:No, you can%26#039;t deduct it as a gift of any sort. If you are self-employed, you could deduct it as a business expense.
Reply:wow. people judge the heck out of you here but i bet they claim all their children as dependents ( you could argue how unloving they are because they use their kids to lower their taxes.) i bet they deduct any donations they made to their churches (you could argue they only give god money so they can lower their own taxes...and look good to their priest)...

dont feel bad about what these people have said.

....look i have no idea what your relationship with your boss was like...but if the floral arrangement was an unrembursed employee expense then you can deduct it. if it was a gift of sorts, then no you cant deduct it.
Reply:thats called being a cheap skate. why bother doing it if you are looking for reimbursement, you might as well take the receipt to your Accounts Payable and have them pay u back....geez!
